So, if you have been following our Youtube, you would know that about a year back I bought the Cramster Flux boots. I did a first impressions video about it then, and now, more than a year later, I am back to talk about it again. You can check out the first impressions review video below in case you missed it.

So, yes, the first thing to say is that the Cramster Flux boots actually did last the entire year. I did touring, some off basic off the road stuff, a lot of walking and everything still holds up. The zippers are still functional, the sole has barely worn and with my sweaty feet it’s not yet stinky. There are just some expected wrinkle marks around the bend points. However I have not yet used this in the rain, so I will reserve my comments on that for when I actually do.

So, pretty much everything that I mentioned and expected from the first impressions are true. But then there are a few quirks that I noticed.

First of all, it still remains to be CE rated. I guess if they do, the price for these will go up drastically.

Second, the actual gear lever protection patch on the Cramster Flux boots are in the wrong position. When you use it for a long ride, you can clearly see that all the rub marks are slightly above where the patch is. That probably needs some work from the Cramster(Rynox) guys.

Thirdly, while doing some off road trail riding with the Ultraviolette X-47 couple of weeks back, I dropped the bike and it landed right on my foot. Two things, one, my foot survived unscathed (well almost) and that brings me to the second, it showed probably one of the weak spots on the Cramster Flux boots. The pointy bit below the foot pegs, the feelers basically, those were properly pushing on my little toe and boy did it hurt! The whole bikes weight was focused on that point and in turn on my toe for a good 30 seconds before the guys lifted it off me.

The front protective TPU toe cap which is supposed to help in this case seems to be a bit smaller than required. But yeah, nothing broke, neither my toe nor the boot. No puncture marks on it as well.

Overall it still is a good pair of boots especially for the price it is on offer, ideally just for touring. Would I have liked it to have better protection? Sure I do. But think of it this way, at this price point its better than those sneakers and those trekking boots a lot of the guys pass off as protective riding boots.
