Hero MotoCorp reported total dispatches of 570,068 units over the course of the month, marking a fantastic rise compared to the 507,701 units they sent out during the same period last year. Domestic retail momentum also stayed incredibly robust throughout May, with the brand logging 496,957 VAHAN registrations (which includes all data as of 1 June 2026, except for Telangana).
Huge Percentage Gains for VIDA Electric Scooters
VIDA, which handles Hero MotoCorp’s Emerging Mobility business, continued its brilliant run by locking in a whopping 19,052 VAHAN registrations. That translates into an eye-watering 166% retail growth in May 2026 when compared to the exact same period last year.
The company is strategically aiming to capture a brand-new demographic of young riders, expanding its EV market reach by kicking off retail operations for the DIRT.E K3 in select markets. This move has further diversified its electric mobility product portfolio and boosted overall accessibility.
To add to the celebrations, VIDA’s high-impact marketing partnership with the Kolkata Knight Riders was officially recognised as the Breakthrough Marketing Campaign of the Year. The award was presented by Shri Nitin Gadkari, the Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways, at the Times Drive Auto Summit and Awards held back on 5 May 2026.
Domestic and Global Business Both Power Ahead
Looking at the traditional petrol-powered line-up, the brand’s overall domestic motorcycle and scooter business sustained strong momentum, registering a robust dispatch growth of around 10% compared to May last year. This local success was pushed forward by double-digit growth across three key sectors: the Deluxe 125cc segment, premium motorcycles, and the scooter segment.
The manufacturer also successfully rolled out the all-new Super Splendor XTEC 2.0. This fresh launch builds on the model’s trusted legacy of more than three decades, adding enhanced technology and rider-centric features to strengthen Hero’s leadership in the 125cc segment.
On the international stage, the brand’s Global Business recorded a massive surge, dispatching 33,284 units. That represents a staggering year-on-year export growth of roughly 78%, driven by strong demand across international markets, an expanding premium product portfolio, and focused market expansions.
