It looks like if you were eyeing up a shiny new inline-4 Honda, you might have missed the boat—at least for this round. The revered Japanese marque has officially pulled the plug on its 650cc duo and the X-ADV crossover maxi-scooter in India, removing them from the official line-up after their high-profile launch. The CB650R and its faired sibling, the CBR650R, were only re-introduced to the Indian market in January 2025. However, it seems the “Sold Out” signs have gone up faster than expected.
Why Have They Disappeared?
Before anyone panics that Honda is ditching the premium segment, it’s worth looking at their track record. This move follows a string of “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” launches, including the CBR1000RR-R SP, Rebel 500, CB750 Hornet, and the CB1000 Hornet SP.
The flagship supersport and the Rebel 500 were discontinued shortly after their debut, and the 650 duo plus the X-ADV appear to have suffered the same fate. The reason? Limited allocations. Honda’s typical strategy for the Indian market involves bringing in a fixed number of units for their large-capacity “big bikes.” Once that specific batch is spoken for, bookings are halted, and the models vanish from the website.
The Final Price Tags
Before they were taken off the shelves, these premium machines carried some significant price tags (all prices ex-showroom, India):
- Honda CB650R (with E-Clutch): Last recorded at Rs 9.60 lakh.
- Honda CBR650R (with E-Clutch): Last recorded at Rs 10.40 lakh.
- Honda X-ADV: This unique crossover was priced at Rs 11.90 lakh before it was delisted.
What Can We Expect Next?
The good news is that “discontinued” doesn’t always mean “gone forever” in Honda-speak. Because these models are sold in batches, there is a very high chance the 650 duo will return in a subsequent allocation cycle.
While there’s no official timeline yet, we could see them popping back up on the configurator later this year or perhaps in early 2027. It simply depends on when the next shipment from Japan is green-lit for the Indian market.
