Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has just announced a voluntary recall for the CB1000 Hornet SP. If you’re riding one of these machines produced between 30 September 2024 and 22 August 2025, you’ll want to pay attention to the details of this latest service campaign.
Why Is the CB1000 Hornet SP Being Recalled?
The manufacturer has identified two specific technical niggles that need sorting out to keep the bike performing at its best:
- Fuel Feed Hose Routing: There’s a potential issue with how the fuel feed hose is routed. Honda wants to inspect it to make sure it stays properly secured, even under specific riding conditions.
- Engine Oil Consumption: It looks like some components might cause the engine to use more oil than usual. HMSI plans to take the necessary steps to ensure the engine maintains its optimal performance levels.
What’s the Plan for Repairs?
Honda is taking a proactive approach to product quality here. Owners can take their bikes to any authorised BigWing Topline dealership across India for a check-up.
As a precautionary measure, technicians will rectify the fuel hose routing and, if it’s deemed necessary, replace the affected engine components. The best part? All of these repairs are being carried out completely free of cost, and it doesn’t matter if your bike is still under warranty or not.
How to Check if Your Bike Is Affected
Honda’s BigWing Topline dealers are already getting to work and will be reaching out to customers via phone calls, emails, or SMS. However, if you want to be proactive, you can head over to the Honda website (honda2wheelersindia.com) and pop in your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to see if your Hornet is part of the campaign.
To make sure you aren’t stuck waiting around at the dealership, it’s a good idea to book a service appointment in advance. This voluntary recall is all about customer satisfaction, ensuring every CB1000 Hornet SP on the road is as safe and reliable as it should be.
