Harley-Davidson is shaking things up with its latest “Back to the Bricks” campaign, and the big news is the upcoming launch of the Harley-Davidson Sprint 440. Aimed at boosting profitability, this new model is set to become the official entry point into the legendary American brand.

A Traditional Cruiser Look

While the previous X440 and X440 T might have missed the mark for some die-hard fans design-wise, the Sprint 440 seems to be exactly what the doctor ordered. Based on a recently revealed sketch, it’s going for that classic, long, and low cruiser vibe.

The design features a flowing, teardrop-shaped fuel tank that leads into a scooped rider’s seat and a slightly raised pillion spot. It’s also sporting a short rear fender and a headlamp that sits forward on raked-out front forks. Word is it’ll likely use a 19-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear, making for a much lower seat height—great news for newer riders or those on the shorter side.

Power and Performance

Under the hood—or rather, the frame—the Sprint 440 powertrain is expected to be very similar to its siblings. We’re looking at a 440cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that puts out 27hp and 38Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

While it shares the same downward-sloping main chassis bar as the current 440 range, it’ll definitely have a unique rear subframe and a more relaxed steering rake angle to handle those cruiser curves.

Quality and Tech

It’ll be interesting to see how the bike is specced out. The X440 T recently introduced ride-by-wire and traction control, so there’s a good chance the improved quality and finish seen on that model will carry over to the Sprint.

Pricing and India Launch Date

So, when can you get your hands on one? The Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 is expected to go on sale in India by the end of 2026, following its international debut. Here’s how the current 440 range is priced (ex-showroom, India) to give you an idea of where it might sit:

  • Standard X440: Rs 2.35 lakh – Rs 2.59 lakh
  • X440 T: Rs 2.85 lakh

This model is particularly significant as it will be the first Hero MotoCorp-made Harley to be exported since the two companies teamed up back in 2020. Whether it’s priced as a budget-friendly entry or a premium cruiser remains to be seen, but it’s definitely one to watch for 2026.
