It looks like Ola Electric is doubling down on its mission to get every Indian onto an electric scooter. The company has just pulled the covers off the new Ola S1 X+ 5.2 kWh, and it’s a bit of a game-changer for the mass market. By packing in their new 4680 Bharat Cell technology, they’ve managed to create a long-range EV that doesn’t break the bank.

Price and Availability

If you’re looking to grab a bargain, you’ll need to move fast. Ola has launched the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh at an introductory price of ₹1,29,999. However, this special offer is only valid until 15th April 2026.

Massive Range and Top-Tier Performance

The headline figure here is undoubtedly the distance this thing can cover. Thanks to that 5.2 kWh battery pack, the new S1 X+ boasts a massive 320 km IDC range. That’s a serious amount of road for a scooter designed for the everyday commuter.

But it’s not just about going the distance; it’s got some decent poke, too. The scooter is powered by an 11 kW mid-drive motor with an integrated MCU, allowing it to hit a top speed of 125 km/h. To make sure all that speed is easy to manage, Ola has equipped the bike with Brake-by-Wire technology and a front disc brake for sharper stopping power.

The Power of the 4680 Bharat Cell

The real story here is what’s happening under the floorboards. The S1 X+ 5.2 kWh is powered by Ola’s indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cells. This move highlights the brand’s “vertical integration” strategy—basically, they’re making the cells, engineering the battery packs, and building the vehicles all under one roof.

According to an Ola Electric spokesperson, this approach allows them to take the high-end technology found in their premium products and scale it down for a much wider audience, making high-performance EVs accessible to more people than ever before.

A Growing Electric Portfolio

This new arrival joins an increasingly crowded stable of Ola Gen 3 S1 scooters and Roadster X motorcycles. For those keeping track, the current lineup looks like this:

  • Premium S1 Gen 3: S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh and 4 kWh) and the S1 Pro (4 kWh and 3 kWh).
  • Mass Market Gen 3: The existing S1 X+ (4 kWh) and the standard S1 X (available in 2 kWh, 3 kWh, and 4 kWh).
  • Motorcycles: The Roadster X+ (4.5 kWh and 9.1 kWh) and the Roadster X (2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh).

By launching the Ola S1 X+ 5.2 kWh with Bharat Cells, the manufacturer is clearly aiming to bridge the gap between “commuter” and “high-performance,” proving that you don’t have to sacrifice range just because you’re shopping in the mass-market segment.
