Royal Enfield are definitely keeping their foot on the gas, officially posting a cracking monthly sales total of 1,03,231 motorcycles in May 2026. That represents a very tidy 15% growth over the exact same period last year, when they shifted 89,428 motorbikes (noting 89,429 units in their detailed data tables).

B. Govindarajan, the Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. and CEO of Royal Enfield, mentioned that the brand is carrying its excellent momentum directly into FY27 with continued growth in Q1, despite facing some prevailing macro-headwinds. He noted that May was a particularly exciting month for the company as they strengthened their product portfolio, announced plans for a new factory, and kept pushing hard into international markets.

Detailed Breakdown of May 2026 Motorcycle Sales

When you look at how the sales split between the home market and overseas shipments, it is clear that local demand is doing the heavy lifting right now.

  • Exports Market: On the flip side, international shipments took a bit of a hit, dropping by 33%. The brand exported 9,116 bikes this month against the 13,609 units sent abroad in May last year.

Domestically, YTD sales have jumped a massive 31% (1,98,244 vs 1,51,822 units), while YTD exports are sitting 25% lower (18,151 vs 24,166 units).

Major Brand and Business Updates

It has been an incredibly busy month for Royal Enfield, packed with fresh product launches, a massive manufacturing expansion plan, and major community events.

The Iconic Bullet 650 Launches Globally

The big news of the month was the official launch of the Bullet 650 in India as well as across the EMEA and ANZ regions. The brand is expanding its 650cc motorcycle portfolio by injecting the iconic Bullet DNA into a larger frame. Powered by a 647.95cc parallel twin engine that kicks out 52.3 Nm of torque, this model proudly features signature peashooter exhausts in gleaming chrome to carry forward that timeless styling.

A New ₹2,500 Crore Factory in Andhra Pradesh

To back up its long-term projected growth, Royal Enfield has announced plans to snap up a land parcel in Tada, Andhra Pradesh, for a brand-new greenfield manufacturing facility. They are planning an investment of approximately ₹2,500 crore, which will be rolled out in a phased manner depending on future market demand.

The Biggest-Ever Himalayan Odyssey Opens Up

Registrations have officially opened for the 22nd edition of the legendary Himalayan Odyssey, which beautifully coincides with the brand’s 125th-year milestone. For the first time ever, the 2026 edition has been reimagined across four distinct formats—Himalayan Odyssey Original, Explore, Kargil Circuit, and Nubra Circuit—to make the trek over the world’s highest motorable passes more inclusive. The event also continues to champion responsible travel through their #LeaveEveryPlaceBetter initiative.

Track Action: Continental GT Cup 2026

The sixth edition of the Continental GT Cup, presented by JK Tyre, is officially accepting registrations. Keeping up its ‘Street to Track’ philosophy, the championship is expanding to eight cities for the first time, holding zonal selections in Guwahati, Noida, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

This year’s event will feature an all-new GT-R750 race prototype in the Professional category. Its unique Pro-Am format brings amateur and professional riders together on a shared platform for mentorship and fierce competition.

Shaking Up the International Business Scene

Despite the dip in export numbers, Royal Enfield’s global cultural and retail push is going strong:

  • APAC Region: The brand introduced the Guerrilla 450 APEX in Australia and New Zealand, launched the Goan Classic 350 in Malaysia, and rolled out five motorcycles alongside opening a new store in Hanoi, Vietnam.
  • EMEA Region: They announced the second edition of the Busted Knuckles Build Off (BKBO) Europe in partnership with Bike Shed and Motorcycle News, focusing on custom builds using the Shotgun 650 platform. They also turned heads at Cannes 2026 through a collaboration with Brut, Sam Webb, and House of Classic.
  • The Americas: In North America, a cool Roland Sands custom-built Shotgun 650 was unveiled at the One Moto Show in Portland. Meanwhile, in Latin America, they expanded their footprint in Colombia with new store launches and a presence at the Feria de las 2 Ruedas event, all while opening up brand-new dealerships to strengthen their network in Brazil.
