Aprilia Racing just dropped a serious bombshell at the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States’ Declaration of Independence, the wizards at Noale have unveiled the Aprilia X 250th. This isn’t just a fancy paint job; it’s the sixth generation of Aprilia’s ultra-exclusive “X” project, and it is officially the most powerful RSV4 ever built. We’re talking a mind-bending 240 HP shoved into a bike that weighs a featherlight 165 kg dry. That power-to-weight ratio is essentially a one-way ticket to hyperspace.
The World’s First: Carbon-Carbon Brakes for the Public
In a massive technical flex, the Aprilia X 250th is the first and only bike on the market to feature carbon-carbon brakes. This is straight-up MotoGP tech, usually reserved for the likes of Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martín.
- The Hardware: 340 mm high-mass carbon discs from Brembo, paired with carbon pads and billet aluminium callipers.
- The Benefit: Carbon discs are half the weight of steel, which makes the handling incredibly sharp. Plus, they don’t fade under the kind of extreme heat you’ll generate on a track day.
Aerodynamics: Prototyping the Future
Aprilia is basically the pioneer of “winglets,” and they’ve gone all out here. The X 250th features the latest generation seat wings and tail wings taken directly from the RS-GP26 prototype.
- Downforce: On the straights, this bike generates five times the vertical load of a standard RSV4 to keep the front wheel down.
- Cornering: When leaned over, it produces three times the load, meaning massive grip and stability while you’re dragging your knee.
- Carbon Construction: Every bit of bodywork, including the structural “sandwich” carbon seat support, is made by PAN Compositi using the same processes as their MotoGP bikes.

The Heart of a Beast: 240 HP V4
The engine is a 1099 cc 65° V4 developed with full SBK racing specs.
- Performance: 240 HP @ 13,750 rpm and 131 Nm of torque.
- The Sound: It breathes through a Sprint Filter high-permeability air filter and screams through a dual SC-Project titanium exhaust that replicates the MotoGP roar.
- Control: It’s managed by the APX control unit, a direct evolution of Max Biaggi’s championship-winning electronics. You can adjust traction control, engine braking, and wheelie mitigation for every single gear.
High-End Hardware List
The spec sheet reads like a biker’s Christmas list:
- Suspension: Fully mechanical Öhlins pressurised forks and TTX rear shock.
- Wheels: Forged Marchesini magnesium rims shod in Pirelli World Superbike slicks.
- Transmission: STM dry clutch, 520 Regina Chain, and titanium rear sprockets.
