The results are in for April 2026, and it has been a whirlwind month for India’s biggest names in biking. From record-breaking electric journeys to massive export spikes, the industry is shaking off supply chain wobbles and powering into the new financial year with some serious momentum.
Here is the lowdown on how the heavy hitters performed.
Hero MotoCorp: A Massive Start to FY27
The world’s largest manufacturer didn’t just start the year; they kicked the door down. Hero MotoCorp reported a staggering 566,086 dispatches this April, more than doubling their April 2025 figure of 305,406 units.
- ICE Segment: Recorded its highest post-pandemic April, with volumes up 83%.
- VIDA (EV): The electric wing saw 129% year-on-year growth. One fan even set an Asia Book of Records milestone by riding a VIDA VX2 for 10,500 km across KKR host cities.
- Global Reach: Exports doubled to 33,653 units, supported by a new partnership in Ecuador.
Bajaj Auto: The Export Kings
Bajaj Auto Limited had a stellar month, particularly on the international stage. Their total sales (2-wheelers and CVs) hit 513,792 units, a 40% jump from the previous year.

- EV Growth: Electric vehicle sales rose 36% to 37,771 units.
- Three-Wheelers: This segment was a standout, growing 37% to 18,637 units.
