Classic Legends—the powerhouse behind the Jawa, Yezdi, and BSA brands—has been on a bit of a roll lately. After a stellar performance that saw the company turn profitable in FY26, they’ve just announced a massive plan to launch four new motorcycles during the FY27 financial year. With a steady product cadence that sees a new bike arriving roughly every three months, these four upcoming models are expected to shake up the 350cc and higher-capacity categories. So what are these 4 new models expected?

Top on the list is the new BSA Thunderbolt. An adventure bike that looks quite impressive. The second in line is the BSA Bantam 350, another clean and fun looking motorcycle from BSA. And the remaining two would probably be updates to the Jawa line up to move it to the updated engine platform. Among these the most exciting is of course the BSA Thunderbolt adventure bike, here is a quick look at its specifications.

Record Sales and a Profitable Turnaround

The numbers tell a pretty impressive story. According to FADA data, Classic Legends closed FY26 with retail sales of 45,409 units, a significant jump from the 32,482 units sold in FY25. When you factor in international markets, the company reported an overall growth of 55 percent.

This growth actually outpaced the wider 350cc segment, which grew by 19 percent during the same period. Turning a profit in FY26 is a huge milestone for the firm, especially after previously navigating challenges like pandemic disruptions and early quality-control hurdles.

Expanding Production and Dealer Networks

With demand on the up, the company is now looking at how to build more bikes, more quickly. Here’s how they plan to scale:

  • Production Targets: Classic Legends expects output to cross 1 lakh units in FY27.
  • Facility Peak: The Pithampur facility in Madhya Pradesh is likely to reach peak utilisation by the end of the fiscal year, leading the team to evaluate whether to expand the current plant or build a new one closer to their suppliers.
  • Retail Footprint: The dealer network is set for a major boost. They are targeting 500 outlets before the next festive season, with a goal of over 700 touchpoints by FY28.

Focus on the Rider Experience

It’s not just about shifting units; Classic Legends is also doubling down on the “lifestyle” side of motorcycling. Following the recent launch of the updated Yezdi Scrambler and the BSA Scrambler 650, the four new bikes for FY27 will likely lean into this trend.

The company is also investing in:

  • A National Training Centre: Located near Pithampur to standardise dealership service.
  • AI Tools: Using tech to monitor dealer performance and improve customer experience.
  • Community Building: Expect more dealership-led rides, marquee events, and collaborations with local riding groups to keep the community thriving.

Challenges on the Horizon

While the outlook is mostly sunny, the company has flagged a few potential bumps in the road. Rising commodity costs and supply chain hiccups—particularly those linked to the situation in West Asia—remain key risks. Volatility in the price of metals and labour availability at the vendor level could impact production costs. Their service network also needs an overhaul.
