Bengaluru-based EV maker Ultraviolette is having a bit of a moment, clocking in its strongest sales run to date in 2026. According to the latest data, the company managed to retail 1,534 electric two-wheelers between 1 January and 12 May 2026. This surge in popularity comes as the brand introduces new ways to make their high-performance bikes more wallet-friendly. The company also announced huge expansion plans recently and it is lovely to see this technology focused EV company grow.
A Record-Breaking Start to the Year
The first quarter of 2026 was a massive win for the team, with 975 units sold between January and March. To put that into perspective, they only shifted 206 units during the same period last year.
The month-by-month breakdown for this year shows a steady pace:
- January: 403 units
- February: 283 units
- March: 289 units
- April: 379 units
- May (first 12 days): 180 units
Since they started retailing back in February 2023, Ultraviolette has reached a cumulative total of 3,799 units. Remarkably, over 3,000 of those sales happened in just the last 16 months. It is a huge jump from their early days, where they sold 271 units in 2023 and 443 in 2024, before hitting 1,551 units in 2025.
Making EVs Cheaper with BaaS
One of the big drivers behind this growth is the new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, launched through the Battery Flex programme in partnership with Ecofy. This plan aims to slash the upfront cost of getting on an electric bike by nearly 40%.
For example, the starting price of the X-47 has been dropped by £1,000 (Rs 1.01 lakh), bringing it down from Rs 2.50 lakh to just Rs 1.49 lakh. Owners then pay for the battery via a subscription starting at Rs 2,499 per month. The best part? Once the subscription tenure is finished, the customer officially owns the battery.
New Models and Big Expansion Plans
Ultraviolette’s current garage features three main products: the F77 Mach 2, the F77 SuperStreet, and the X-47. However, they aren’t stopping there. They have already teased the Shockwave dirt bike and the Tesseract scooter, both of which are expected to hit the streets in the second half of 2026.
To support all these new riders, the company is rapidly growing its physical footprint. They currently have over 40 experience centres across India, but the goal is to be in 100 cities by the time 2026 draws to a close.
