Norton Motorcycles just dropped a major announcement at EICMA 2025, unveiling a bold new product lineup and a fresh brand identity. The star of the show? Four all-new Manx and Atlas models, plus a slick new logo that pays tribute to Norton’s legendary past while looking ahead to the future.

This comeback is backed by some serious muscle: TVS Motor Company has pumped over £200 million into Norton’s new Solihull manufacturing facility, making it one of the most advanced motorcycle plants in the UK. Norton’s workforce has grown by 25% in preparation for the launch of the flagship Manx R in early 2026, and the brand is planning to open more than 200 showrooms across the UK, USA, India, and Europe.

Richard Arnold, Executive Director at Norton Motorcycles, summed it up: “Norton is a proudly British brand, with design, development, and engineering rooted in the UK. Thanks to TVS Motor, we now have a global manufacturing and distribution network. This isn’t just about nostalgia—it’s about building Norton’s future with a clear vision and a global reach.”

The Resurgence Strategy: More Than Just Hype

Norton’s revival isn’t just marketing fluff. It’s the result of five years of hard work, innovation, and investment by TVS Motor Company since they took over Norton in April 2020. The new Solihull site, opened in 2021, is now a global hub for research, development, and design, capable of producing up to 8,000 bikes a year. The facility leverages TVS’s global supply chain while keeping Norton’s design and brand identity firmly in British hands.

The first two models to hit the spotlight are the Manx R and Manx, kicking off a roadmap of four new bikes. These models blend rider-centric innovation with Norton’s signature style, promising a mix of performance, design, and real-world usability.

  • Atlas: A rugged, middleweight adventure bike built for both on- and off-road adventures, with a lightweight chassis and a flexible powerplant.
  • Atlas GT: The ultimate companion for daily commutes and long-distance tours, blending agility, comfort, and advanced electronics.

The New Norton Logo: A Nod to the Past, a Leap into the Future

Norton’s new logo is a modern take on the brand’s heritage, designed to reflect the company’s evolution over the last five years. It’s a visual statement that Norton is moving forward while staying true to its roots.

Norton’s Legacy: 127 Years of Innovation

Norton’s story goes back to 1898, when James Lansdowne ‘Pa’ Norton started out as a supplier of bike parts. By 1902, Norton was building its own motorcycles, and over the decades, the brand became synonymous with racing triumphs, engineering breakthroughs, and a relentless drive to innovate.

From the legendary ‘featherbed’ chassis to the radical rotary-engined RCW588 racer, Norton’s history is packed with game-changing moments. The brand’s racing pedigree includes multiple Isle of Man TT wins and a string of championship victories, all fueled by a constant feedback loop between track and street.

The Vision: Building the World’s Most Desirable Motorcycles

TVS Motor Company’s investment in Norton isn’t just about money—it’s about building a world-class team and a global manufacturing network. The goal is to create motorcycles that are as beautiful and desirable as they are robust and reliable.

Norton’s immediate focus is on re-establishing itself in its traditional markets—the UK, Europe, and the USA—while also expanding into India and Southeast Asia. The brand’s approach is about disciplined growth, with quality, reliability, and serviceability taking priority over rapid expansion.

Innovation: The Heart of Norton

Norton’s reputation is built on innovation, from the bespoke frames and engines of the early days to the cutting-edge technology in the new Manx and Atlas models. The brand’s new models are designed to appeal to riders who value sophistication, design, and a nuanced approach to innovation.

Design: Modern, Integrated, Dramatic, Connected

Norton’s new design philosophy is all about blending modernity, luxury, and reductivity. The Manx R and Atlas models are muscular, compact, and dramatic, with every functional element on display. The result is a range of motorcycles that are both visually striking and emotionally engaging.

The Delivery: Rider-Centric Innovation

Norton’s new models are the product of 200 of the brand’s most talented designers and engineers, working across sites in the UK, Italy, and India. The development process included detailed analysis of over 18,000 miles (30,000 km) of real-world riding data, ensuring that every aspect of the bikes is tuned for the rider’s experience.

A New Era of Norton Superbikes

Norton says the Manx R represents everything the brand stands for now: emotional design, real-world performance, and motorcycles meant to be genuinely desirable—not just fast on paper.

The Manx R is designed to be that rare superbike you actually want to ride every day, while still having enough charisma for track days. The core mission is simple: build a bike that gives you a deep, visceral rider–machine connection.

It’s dramatic, packed with detail, and built around the rider. This isn’t a bike about excess—it’s about capturing that very specific “Norton” feeling.

Where It Sits

Richard Arnold, Norton’s Executive Director, sums it up nicely:

The Manx is for riders who want adrenaline with refinement—people who appreciate craftsmanship, exclusivity, and a bit of swagger.

As the first of four models leading Norton’s resurgence, the Manx R combines cutting-edge tech, genuine road performance and a design that leans into Norton’s history dating back to 1898. It’s a modern superbike with proper British character baked in.

Design Philosophy

Norton’s design reboot is overseen by some big names, including Professor Gerry McGovern, who talks about combining modernity, emotion, drama and luxury with Norton’s heritage.

Simon Skinner, Norton’s Head of Design, breaks the new “Nortonness” into four principles:

  1. Modern – in a clean, reductive way
  2. Integrated – design and engineering work together
  3. Dramatic – every Norton should stir emotion
  4. Connected – the design should enhance the riding experience

The Manx R is the first bike shaped entirely by this philosophy. From the first sketch, designers and engineers worked side-by-side. The result: a superbike with no wings, no flashy decals, no unnecessary creases. Even visible fixings are minimized. It’s a cleaner, more sculpted look that really stands out in today’s busy superbike market.

The proportions are compact and aggressive, giving the bike a forward-leaning stance even when parked. Exposed components are designed like high-end watch mechanics—technical bits turned into visual jewellery.

Powertrain: An All-New 1,200cc V4

Norton didn’t just tweak an old engine — this is a completely new 72° 1,200cc liquid-cooled V4 built for real-world performance.

Nevijo Mance, Executive Director, explains Norton’s thinking: Instead of chasing insane peak horsepower numbers, they analysed 18,500 miles (30,000 km) of real-world riding data. Most riders never rev beyond 11,000 rpm, so Norton focused the Manx R’s performance between 5,000 and 10,000 rpm.

Here’s what the new V4 delivers:

  • 206 hp at 11,500 rpm
  • 130 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm
  • Total weight: 204 kg
  • Targeted 1 hp per kg power-to-weight ratio

The result? Explosive midrange acceleration—perfect for real-world overtakes.

The bike uses a full ride-by-wire system that independently controls the front and rear cylinder banks for super-precise throttle response.

You get five riding modes: Rain, Road, Sport and two fully customisable Track modes. Once you set them up, the bike remembers them every time you restart.

Transmission

The Manx R runs a six-speed constant-mesh gearbox, tuned for the road. It comes with:

  • Wet, multiplate slipper clutch
  • Quickshifter
  • Auto rev-matching
  • Short, closely stacked gear ratios
  • Taller-than-usual final drive ratio (2.41:1)
  • Intelligent Optimal Gear Shift Suggestion system

Chassis: Built for Road Feel, Not Lap Times

Chief Technical Officer Brian Gillen says the frame is engineered for feel first—something Norton prioritised over outright racetrack performance.

The cast frame uses a single-piece construction for cleaner panel integration and tight tolerances. It’s tuned to balance stiffness and controlled flex, giving you confidence and feedback at everyday road speeds.

Suspension: Next-Level Semi-Active Setup

Co-developed with Marzocchi, the Manx R’s suspension is the most advanced Norton has ever made.

  • Fully adjustable front and rear
  • Real-time sensors continuously modify compression and rebound damping
  • Adapts instantly to throttle, braking, lean angle and road surface
  • Five riding modes dramatically change suspension behaviour on the fly

This setup even helps with weight balance at all speeds—without needing aerodynamic wings.

Brakes & Wheels

Braking gets a big upgrade too with the debut of Brembo’s new Hypure calipers.

Highlights:

  • Lightweight, asymmetrical monobloc calipers
  • Dual 330 mm floating discs up front
  • Single 245 mm disc at the rear
  • Lean-sensitive ABS tuned specifically for the Hypure setup

The wheels are gorgeous 17-inch BST carbon-fibre rims wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V4SP tyres (120/70 front, 200/55 rear).

Technology & Connectivity

All the tech on the Manx R is designed to enhance the ride without feeling intrusive. Norton partnered with Bosch to integrate its advanced 10.3 platform with Norton’s own tuning.
