TVS Motor Company has just rolled out the ‘TVS Indus’ Design Honours, a fresh, annual platform set up to energize design innovation in India’s mobility sector. The idea? To give India’s next-gen creators a national stage to bring mobility concepts to life—concepts that are forward-thinking, rooted in Indian culture, and with the potential to make noise globally.
Drawing from the pioneering spirit of the Indus Valley Civilization, TVS Indus isn’t just about slick product design but about meaningful, wholesome solutions for the real India—its diverse terrains, traditions, and people. Amit Rajwade, VP of Design at TVS, puts it simply: this isn’t just about how we move, but how design can shape our collective future and put Indian creativity at the heart of the global conversation.
This year’s challenge is open to Indian residents—think students, young professionals, and design enthusiasts of all backgrounds. The brief is to take inspiration from four unique Indian regions: Thar, Sahyadri, Kutch, and Mumbai. Entrants can submit their own ideas (solo only!) for monowheel, two- or three-wheeler mobility solutions that address local environmental, social, and cultural needs.
Entries will be judged by an expert jury, focusing on originality, contextual and user relevance, and real-world feasibility. The top three designers will net cash prizes (up to ₹5 lakh), with extra recognition through a Viewers’ Choice award and the chance at an internship with TVS’s own design team.
Registration is now open on tvsindus.com, with the submission deadline fixed for October 6, 2025. It’s free to enter, and all you need is bold creativity and a passion for making Indian mobility smarter and more meaningful. With TVS Indus, the company is doubling down on its commitment to innovation and showing the world that India is gearing up to lead the charge in global design.
