Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has officially launched the Honda E-Clutch NX500 motorcycle in India. This update is designed to make the mid-size bike more comfortable, approachable and capable for a larger group of riders. Bookings for the new Honda NX500 E-Clutch are now open at all Honda BigWing dealerships across the country, with prices starting at ₹7,43,900 (ex-showroom, All India).
How the E-Clutch Works
The E-Clutch system uses precise electronic control to handle clutch engagement when you’re starting, stopping, or shifting gears. This means you don’t have to worry about manual clutch operation during your ride, though you can still override the system and take manual control whenever you fancy.
According to Mr. Tsutsumu Otani, President & CEO of HMSI, this technology is a game-changer for reducing rider fatigue on busy city streets and long highway stretches, all while keeping the hands-on feel that riders love.
Performance and Specifications
Under the skin, the NX500 remains a solid performer, powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. It produces 48 PS @ 8500 rpm and 43 Nm @ 6500 rpm. It’s paired with a 6-speed transmission that’s tuned for strong low and mid-range torque, ensuring you have smooth power whether you’re commuting or touring.
The bike is built on a steel diamond frame and comes packed with high-end hardware, including:
- Suspension: Showa SFF-BP USD front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock.
- Braking: Dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc, all supported by dual-channel ABS.
- Wheels: A 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup.
- Tech & Connectivity: A 5.0-inch full-colour TFT display with Honda RoadSync for navigation, calls, and music.
- Safety: Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and full LED lighting come as standard.
